About Gritworks Collective

As a therapist and father, I saw the same pattern again and again — kids (and adults) often don’t know how to respond when strong feelings hit. Emotions take over, and clear thinking disappears. The result? Decisions made in the heat of the moment that don’t serve us well.

Gritworks Collective was created to change that. We help parents teach their kids grit and resilience through short, practical weekly missions. These aren’t long lectures or heavy reading. They’re real-world scenarios you can tackle together in minutes — at the dinner table, in the car, or during everyday life.

We start with parenting because it shapes how kids learn to handle the world. But our work goes further. Over time, we’ll introduce bite-sized Socratic dialogue and critical thinking exercises so kids (and adults) can learn to slow down, think deeply, and respond wisely — even when emotions run high.
Decades of research show that resilience is built through repeated practice in real-world challenges. Psychologists like Ann Masten call this ordinary magic — the everyday skills that help kids adapt and thrive, even in tough conditions.

Our mission is simple: teach kids to steadiness when everything shakes.
